The Passion

HOW DOES SUN PROTECTION CLOTHING WORK?

Quite simply, clothing must be made using materials that block UV radiation. The individual threads of this fabric are woven so tightly that no radiation can penetrate. This creates durable, physical UV protection without any chemical additives. In Italy and France, we developed with our manufactures the perfect fabrics for our collections made from old fishing nets or PET bottles, which are then sewn in Poland and Portugal.

iQ-UV protection wear is long-lasting, sustainable, and chemical-free.

The Mission

HOW ARE OUR FABRICS MADE?

Our clothing is made from different materials, both of which not only offer excellent protection against UV radiation but also offers impressive benefits for the environment.

A portion of the clothing is made from regenerated ECONYL®, a yarn produced from waste materials such as fishing nets and carpets, as well as industrial plastic collected worldwide. Through an intelligent regeneration and purification process, the nylon waste is restored to its original purity and quality. Regenerated nylon not only reduces waste but also decreases its impact on global warming by up to 90% compared to new nylon made from oil.

Part of our collection is crafted from 2Life®-Garn, which is recycled from used PET-bottles. The environmental savings from using recycled PET yarns compared to new polyester yarns are significant: 32% less CO2 emissions and 6-% less energy.

The best part of it all is water conservation. Im comparison, a conventional cotton shirt can consume up to 2,750 liters of water from factory to finished product. In contrast, the production of IQ-UV T-shirt requires only 18 liter of water, making them an environmental friendly choice.

The Goal

WHY IS THIS ALL IMPORTANT ?

The wonderful side effect: fabrics obtained from these materials are durable, lightweight, cooling, comfortable, and provide optimal protection against the dangerous UVA and UVB radiation, and even against stings (like jelly fish) during water sports.

Additionally, together with you as our customers, we are reducing the consumption of sunscreens, with their necessary additives for effectiveness, can burden our groundwater, lakes, and oceans - not to mention the tons of plastic waste from the sunscreen bottles.

Dermatologists also agree that the optimal protective effect is achieved not by sunscreen but by clothing with UV protection.
